I was told I needed to try some Basque food for my first time in Boise and this came up as a top place! The seating was kind of crowded but honestly the bartenders were great and they did a great job to accommodate. I ordered the lamb grinder spicy and it did not disappoint. The croquettes were recommended to me as well and they were great. Regardless, I would definitely eat here again and highly recommend this place as a nice and casual eatery.
Bar Gernika is a Boise staple and a must visit for anyone in town. The food always delicious. I highly recommend the lamb grinder and croquettes. The bread is perfect for a sandwich and the best fries in town. Seating is limited inside and there's no reservations so be prepared to wait or sit at the bar for smaller groups. There's plenty of great drinks to choose from and the service is always excellent. The location downtown and in the heart of the Basque District is perfect.

Got the solomo with croquettes. Sandwich was just ok. Pork pieces were too thick in my opinion. Croquettes were creamy, but not too flavorful. They weren’t too busy, but it took awhile.
My first experience eating at a Basque restaurant. I had the lamb grinder. It was delicious. The croquetas were my favorite food item of the meal. Everything was delicious!
A wonderful place. Delicious cider and tasty brews. The service was incredibly friendly and hospitable, splitting our scrumptious lamb grinder on two plates for us. Highly recommend

I happened to be visiting from out of town for the weekend and Bar Gernika was highly recommended. I stopped in for lunch and was warmly greeted. I had the lamb stew with a side salad. The stew, which came with a piece of bread and …
